Chris Fisher

Original picture book artwork by Chris Fisher is available for purchase from Children's Book Illustration together with one limited edition print of The Snowdragon.

Born in 1958, Chris Fisher studied a Foundation course at Colchester Institute of High Education and then went on to do a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art at Newcastle Polytechnic. He spent several years working for the Bristol Playbus Project as a community arts worker and for the Social Services as a careworker with mentally and physically disabled people.

He is well-known for his vivid, lively illustrative style, and has illustrated over 40 titles for Walker Books, Hodder, Puffin, Scholastic and HarperCollins. His most recent title, A Chair for Baby Bear, was shortlisted for both the Sheffield Children's Book Award and the Book Trust Early Years Award. It was also featured recently on CBBC's Tikkabilla!

Chris lives in Bristol and enjoys music, sports and eating too much! He spends most of his spare time drawing.
