This is an original illustration taken from the book Don’t spill the milk! by Stephen Davies and illustrated by Christopher Corr.

This gloriously illustrated picture book tells the story of a little girl called Penda who has to carry a bowl of milk across Africa in order to reach her father in the grasslands. In this gouache illustration, delivered wrapped, we see Penda crossing the sand dunes by the river, alongside a herd of camels and a group of dancing women.
