This stunning illustration is an original artwork by Laura Carling, designed for the poignant children’s picture book, The Promise, written by Nicola Davies.

The book tells the story of a thief who steals an old woman’s handbag which is full of acorns. The thief makes a promise to plant them all, beginning a surprising journey towards changing the world, one acorn at a time.

Delivered in an A195 profile frame, hand painted by Laura herself, this artwork is created in coloured pencil, watercolour and acrylic and depicts a busy landscape full of palm trees and hundreds of cyclists.
