This colourful, mixed media illustration is taken from the picture book An Island Grows by Lola M Schaefer and is an original artwork by the acclaimed children’s illustrator, Cathie Felstead.

The book tells the story of an island from its birth through to the present day and how it comes to be inhabited by vibrant plants, animals and people. This portrait illustration shows some of the dazzling flowers and wildlife that live on the island.
